After a minor freak-out I finally got ahold of mandolin virtuoso and mixologist Chris Thile. In a whirlwind 15 minutes I talked to Thile about cocktails and upcoming projects before his show in Cork, Ireland.
I’m also looking forward to trying this delicious thing called a “Jungle Bird”. The man knows his drinks. Currently looking for my hammock and tiny umbrellas.
1 1/2 oz Black Strap rum (Thile’s recommendation, but any dark rum will do)
3/4 oz Campari
3 oz Pineapple Juice
1/2 oz Lime Juice
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
Pour into a glass over crushed ice. Stir. Garnish with mint.
